Simple Band Options Simple bands are the most popular style of wedding rings, with several design options to choose from. In addition, I offer different workshop fabrication options, ranging from 4-12 hours for making simple bands.
The profile or shape of your wedding rings is the first choice to make. Flat bands have a slightly more contemporary look; domed bands look more traditional. The more popular shape for my customers is flat, as pictured in these simple bands.
This photo features the more traditional look of domed simple bands. These are also called half-round wedding rings. I also offer a low-dome wedding ring profile, which is 1/2mm thinner than the traditional half-dome.
New York Jazz Bands
White metal is a popular choice for wedding rings for my customs, and I offer three different white precious metals to choose from: platinum, white gold, or palladium. The biggest differences between the metals from a consumer point of view are cost and weight. For more information, view our wedding ring metals page.
Yellow Gold is a little more traditional for wedding rings. We make most wedding rings from 18k yellow, but can also use 22k yellow, 24k pure gold for richer color and heavier rings. I added a baby ring since my customers had already started their family.
For a whole lot of awesome, some customers go for red gold. Additional copper in the alloy gives the gold a redder color, which is more popular in Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

The width of your ring is the measurement from the top to bottom of your ring as seen on your finger. In this photo, you can see a wide wedding ring and a narrow engagement ring. Width is usually measured in millimeters. 5mm is the most popular width for men and 3mm is popular for women, although there is plenty of variation among my customers.
Thickness refers to the distance from the inside of your ring (touching your finger) to the outside surface which is visible when worn. My standard thickness for flat bands is 1.5mm, while domed bands are usually 2mm. We can customize wedding ring thickness.
Finger size refers to the inner circumference of the ring necessary to fit over the knuckle of your finger. American finger size measurements range from 1-15, with most people within the 4-10 range. I will measure your finger size prior to a workshop.

We can mix our own alloys in my shop to create unique wedding rings that nobody has. Most commonly, clients like to melt down inherited jewelry that has been in the family for years. We can also create alloys that have unique color, extra weight, or are easier to work with. These rings are a heavier and easier to fabricate high karat white gold.
With softer, high karat gold, we can impress a rustic texture into the wedding rings as we form them. We more frequently make variations of this rustic look with harder alloys and platinum as well.
There’s no law stating that you must have only one wedding ring! A set of stacking wedding rings allows for different combinations depending on your mood or outfit. Aside from the cost of precious metal, there is no additional charge for making one extra narrow ring. Sets of multiple stacking rings will incur a small extra fee.

We can machine-engrave lettering on the inside of your wedding bands in standard block letters for a small extra fee. We can also engrave lettering with your own handwriting for a second small extra fee.
One of the best ways to make unique, personal, and romantic wedding rings is to use gold from your families to create new wedding bands. There are several different ways to incorporate family gold into your rings, depending on design and ranging from easy to difficult to very expensive.
