Gazebo Wedding

Gazebo Wedding

If you’ve decided on the perfect wedding venue and you’re excited to make use of their gazebo as a focal point for your ceremony, we approve! Gazebos are a wonderful setting for your vows and first kiss, especially when you decorate it the right way. Hiring a professional to bring your vision to life can be expensive, though, so if you’re keen on saving a bit of money, you will likely want to DIY the décor for your gazebo. If so, you’ve come to the right place. Below, we’ll arm you with the tips you need to decorate your gazebo yourself and offer some stunning ideas that are pretty simple and affordable.

If you haven't chosen your ideal wedding venue, check out the bonus venue at the bottom of the article that's a 9-time award-winning location

Gazebo

Having a solid understanding of the gazebo you’ll be using for your wedding ceremony is the most crucial step in the decorating process. You need to know the measurements and design of the structure by heart in order to decorate it the right way: if there are a bunch of windows in the gazebo, you may want to use those to your advantage for decorating purposes, and if the gazebo is a funky colour, you’ll have to keep that in mind when picking your colours.

Gazebo Wedding Venues

Since you’ll be renting the gazebo for your wedding and not buying it outright, you’ll need to consult the owner/council to determine which types of decorations are allowed and which ones aren’t. Some structures will only be compatible with non-secured decorations, and others may allow you to drill into them for more sophisticated décor items. Knowing the rules beforehand is a great way to find success with this DIY wedding project.

We know shopping for your decorations is going to be one of the most exciting parts of your gazebo decorating experience, but you do need to do some leg work before you hit the stores. Researching gazebo design ideas (congrats, you’re already doing this!) and making a list of all the things you need to borrow, make, or buy will ensure your final result matches your vision, and you’ve only spent as much as you need to. Sketch out your top ideas and consult with family and friends to make sure it is cohesive in itself and matches the rest of the wedding.

There are so many ways to decorate gazebos for weddings, and pretty much every design idea can be altered to fit every style of gazebo. Most couples choose to hold their ceremony directly inside the gazebo, but it is also a great idea to use the gazebo entrance as a backdrop for a ceremony held in front of it. Below, we’ve gathered some excellent ideas for both design styles. We hope you find the inspiration you’re looking for.

Different Ways You Can Decorate A Gazebo For A Wedding » Residence Style

If you’re looking for simple elegance, you’ll want to wrap the pillars of your gazebo in delicate strands of greenery and neutral-coloured flowers. Placing a couple of urns filled with the same plants on either side of the entrance will enhance the overall aesthetic and make it very clear where the magic is going to be taking place.

A wonderfully rustic and understated way of decorating a gazebo is to focus on the entrance alone. Create an arch with twisted branches and secure some bright bouquets of flowers to captivate your guests. This is a highly affordable way to decorate a wedding gazebo and it will blend in with the rest of your wedding décor seamlessly.

Anyone who has ever seen the before and after shots of a wedding space knows exactly how much of an impact drapery can make. Installing theme-colored drapery in each section of the gazebo will surround the wedding couple in serenity and create a gorgeously elegant space to exchange vows. Accent the drapery with some flowers on the floor to create some stunning contrast and pull the entire space together.

Oak Wedding Gazebos

Nothing says graceful and sophisticated more than a delicate chandelier. Installing a small chandelier in the center of a gazebo will illuminate the space in a stunning way for nighttime ceremonies and will turn any plain old gazebo into a romantic getaway. Include some drapery around the exterior to enclose the space and create the perfect focal point for your ceremony.

If you love a natural theme, you can’t go wrong with flowers and greenery. This theme fits most perfectly with gazebos tucked into a treeline, but it can really be used anywhere. Create a thick arch of flowers and dark green plants around the entrance of the gazebo, and extend the theme all the way down the aisle. If you’re getting married in front of the gazebo rather than inside it, your arch of flowers can become a wall, instead.

If you’re planning your wedding in the late fall or you’re going with a Halloween theme, you should extend your decorations to the gazebo, as well. Include bold colors like red and orange flowers, and throw in a pumpkin or two to really commit to the theme. Your guests will love it, and your pictures will be stunning.

Paper lanterns are a stunning replacement for traditional flower bouquets. Fill the entrance way and front facing windows of the gazebo with hanging paper lanterns, and affix them to the aisle chairs as well. Scattering some same-coloured petals along the aisle will pull the entire ceremony space together and create a gorgeous contrast.

If you will be hosting your ceremony in front of the gazebo and not directly inside it, we have the perfect DIY way to decorate. Create a wall of garland strands made of your wedding flowers, and complement them with some delicate glass balls. Attach some sheer drapery to the focal pillars with a bouquet at the knot, and you’ve got a romantic and eye-catching wedding gazebo.

Trellis Outdoor Wedding Ceremonies — Beautiful Historic Garden Weddings

In 2004 we entered the wedding business at Cavender Castle. With “The Castle” as our theme it seemed only natural to include a Gazebo as our primary ceremony site. So we purchased an ornate marble Gazebo from Italy and had it erected by craftsmen in North Georgia.
